On Berlin’s Leo-Blech-Platz, RALF SCHMITZ has built a pair of standalone villas, each containing three dream apartments of between 210 and 308 square metres. The former is an ideal place to read or work, with its comfortable “Meta” armchair and “Sawhorse” desk with woven leather “Director” chairs; the triptych DIE SONNE UM MITTERNACHT SCHAUEN 7A/III /196 /1973 is by Katharina Sieverding.
On the other side, the dining room is dominated by a round “Column” table of black-and-gold marble, above which hangs a woven leather “Wide Drum” pendant light.
More double doors lead into the kitchen, which has contemporary Warendorf units and an island lit by Tekna’s glass-encased “Portreath-C” pendant.
On the right-hand side of the apartment is the master suite in which bedroom, dressing room and bathroom together provide over 50 square metres of floor space.
Here, a luxurious Bottega Veneta bed with a linen headboard is flanked by the firm’s “Floating” nightstands. A stylish chandelier by “Arteriors” illuminates the adjacent dressing room’s grey-stained oak wardrobes.
And the master bathroom offers a choice of free-standing Devon&Devon tub or walk-in shower plus a bespoke washstand of high-quality Silver Light travertine.
The fittings are from Dornbracht’s “Tara” line.

Photographs of different RALF SCHMITZ developments adorn many of the rooms, along with custom-made curtains and Roman blinds by Berlin-based furnishings firm Unique Factory. The wide-plank pale-oak flooring is by Bauwerk.
