Guests in Grunewald

16. May 2018

Multiple occasions call for festivities, and this time there were at least two good reasons to celebrate. For one, the publication of Exceptional Homes – The Classic Style of RALF SCHMITZ, est. 1864.

With its opulent imagery, this new coffee-table book is dedicated to the fine architecture and elegant interiors that have been the signature of our family-owned company for over 150 years. And what better way to highlight the architecture than with the opening of the new RALF SCHMITZ showroom in the newly finished and distinctive urban villa at Leo-Blech-Platz.

There was thus much to celebrate on April 9 and 10 – both book and building. Numerous guests – including former clients, newly interested buyers and design aficionados – used the opportunity to stroll through the representative and stylishly decorated showroom mezzanine.

The custom-made built-ins and exquisite appointments were widely admired; the lighted shoe closet in the dressing room of gray-stained oak set many women’s hearts aflutter, while the men positively appraised the bathrooms with custom-designed sinks in noble silver light travertine.

Guests mingled in the spring sun with a glass of champagne on the generous garden terrace or studied the many works of art from Ralf Schmitz’s private collection, which perfectly complimented the furniture selected from the Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta.

Delectable finger food, sweet and salty, suited both the coffee and the champagne – stylishly served on the elegant kitchen island in the showroom apartment’s modern Warendorf kitchen.

Interested guests pour over information about RALF SCHMITZ’s newest Berlin projects at the “Column” dining table of black-gold marble, a design by Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta.

While some browsed the company’s new book (“Look, Honey, here is a picture of our beautiful staircase!”), others looked with interest at floorplans for buildings currently slated for construction, such as in well-heeled Westend on Preußenallee or the loft-like units on Linienstraße in Mitte.

Of course, you may now also visit our showroom at Menzelstraße 20, 14193 Berlin; please contact us by telephone at 030 3180596-0. We look forward to hearing from you.

The book Exceptional Homes was published by teNeues.
